We do want you to keep in mind the sustainability of our fishery.
For the ultimate prize, you can catch 1 king salmon per day, with limits as follows:
June 1 - June 30: Up to 3 king salmon total.
July 1 - July 15: Up to 2 king salmon total.
After July 15: 1 king salmon total.

Tenakee Inlet is a hidden gem for whale watching, where humpback whales often pass by and can be seen bubble-feeding right from our deck. Our whale-friendly boats ensure a safe and respectful viewing experience, adhering to all NOAA regulations. Whales can be viewed from our boats, kayaks, or the deck at our lodge.

What is included in the Self-Guided Fishing Package?
Each package includes pickup at the float plane dock, lodging at our lodge for up to 8 people, all meals, use of fishing gear and boats, and fish processing services. Our packages ensure you have everything you need for a rewarding fishing adventure.
If you want to bring your own gear you are welcome to!
How long are the fishing excursions and what is the cost?
Our fishing excursions are 6 days, 4 of those fishing days. The standard rate is $3,600 per person.
How many people can the boats accommodate?
We offer two boats, each capable of comfortably accommodating 3 people minimum and up to 4 guests in each boat, with a total of up to 8 guests.
YES : you can book Both Boats for a larger group.
Are there any qualifications needed to operate the boats?
Yes, all guests who wish to operate the boats must have boater safety certification before you arrive. Boater safety certification can be acquired online. We provide onsite training, coaching, and guidance to ensure everyone is prepared and understands local fishing practices and safety protocols.
How do I reach the lodge?
Fly to Juneau, Alaska: The nearest major airport is Juneau International Airport (JNU).
Once you arrive in Juneau, you will transfer to our preferred bush plane service. You will then fly to Tenakee Springs. This scenic flight offers breathtaking views of the Tongass National Forest and the surrounding waters.
Arrival at Tenakee Springs: Once you arrive, our team will greet you and assist with your luggage, providing a seamless transfer to Fishing Bear Alaska Lodge.

What is your cancellation and damage policy?
We understand plans can change, so we offer a flexible cancellation policy:
Cancel before March 15: Cancel your booking and receive a refund of your deposit, minus a 10% service fee.
Cancel after March 15: Deposits are non-refundable unless we can rebook your dates.
Equipment Use: We operate a "you break, you buy" policy for all equipment to encourage careful use of our boats and gear.We aim to provide a seamless and worry-free experience for all our guests.
